Industrial Instructor I - Metal Shop

Instructorwithin a metal shop involved with all aspects of metal Manufacturingoperations. Responsible for production planning, work assignments, qualitycontrol, safety oriented, manual machine operations, security, tool control,inmate instruction, training and profitability of the shop functions. Assist with estimating costs andcompletes cost sheets as required; Maintain security and perform requiredsecurity checks on a regular basis; Control designated hazardous materials witha sign out system & permanent log to meet ACA standards; Abilityto operate CNC machining equipment; read and produce CAD drawing plans. Workinline accordingly with shop manager and supervisors. Performs all other duties and responsibilitiesas required
Fiveyears of full time, or equivalent part-time, experience in the operation of afull service metal fabrication shop. AWSmembership preferred. Hoisting ? forklift license or certification.
Thisis a Civil Service position. Please note candidate must take and pass the nextCivil Service examination for this title in order to be considered for apermanent appointment.
The selected candidate will have to submit to a psychological and drugscreening and must attend a five (5) week Recruit Academy.
Please note that salaries for union positions aredetermined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargainingagreement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
